Minnie Schuler made this beautiful throw for her son. She drew and painted the gorgeous flowers that adorn each square! The squares are made from our tone-on-tone White Wildflowers print which make the perfect canvas for her artwork. Tonal Vineyard Yellow Green from our shop backs the quilt while the inside if filled with our versatile Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting. I quilted it in “Curly Swirly” for her using off-white thread. It’s just beautiful Miss Minnie! 🙂
Patsy Willis made this catchy throw as a gift! It features a three-by-three block pattern in the center framed in black and bordered by a high energy zigzag print with loads of color which in turn is bordered in a pretty blue. It is backed with Tit-A-Whirl Turquoise backing and filled with soft Hobbs Heirloom batting, both from our shop. I quilted it for her in “Double Bubbles.” A really cute throw, Patsy! 🙂
Jeanne Brown made this grand Airplanes Throw for a special young man! The center panel depicts some great warbirds including the North American P-51 & T-6 along with the Boeing P-26 & PT-17 set in a field of stars. This is surrounded by a fantastic print with logos from airlines past, neatly framed by a blue geometric print. This in turn is bordered by aviation images and line drawings from over the years. Inside we used our soft Hobbs Heirloom batting and I quilted it in planes flying among the clouds. A magnificent throw, Jeanne! 🙂
Marcia George made this Sunshine Throw for someone special! It features a cute sunflower panel that tells all the world “You Are My Sunshine.” She framed it with gingham and itsy bitsy polka dots, then added a complimenting yellow tone on tone floral and sunflower border. I used our soft Hobbs Heirloom batting inside and quilted it in “Ribbon Hearts” for her with lime green thread. Very Cheery Marcia! 🙂
Shirley Clark made this delightful throw featuring colors of Christmas from 2 ½” strips sewed into big blocks. Even though these are not traditional Christmas prints, the colors and certainly make one think of Christmas time! The batting used inside the quilt is soft Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 and it’s backed with Tonal Vineyard Hunter Green quilt backing from our shop. I quilted it in “Curly Swirly” for her using lime green thread. Charming and colorful, Shirley! 🙂
Fall weather is finally here now and it’s a perfect time for Minnie Shuler’s Deer Throw! The central panel is a winter scene with three beautiful deer on a snowy day. Above and below are rows of blocks with eight-point stars surrounded by a print that evokes autumn leaves, this in turn is bracketed by a traditional looking star print. Concentric borders of coordinating prints frame it all beautifully. It is backed with Marblecious Camel quilt backing from our shop and has our warm but not too heavy Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting inside. I quilted it for her in a loose stipple. A perfect throw to cuddle up under this time of year! 🙂
Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues with another beautiful throw by Angie Pitts. This one is similar to the previous one she did but with the addition of pink squares set on point in the center and corner blocks. Our soft Hobbs Heirloom batting fills the inside and I quilted it with the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon and did the binding for her. A beautiful throw for a most important cause Angie!
