Patti Spooner pieced this exquisite Irish Chain quilt. The gold Irish Chain pattern is framed by concentric strips of navy blue and a golden brown “Marbleicious” print. This in turn is bordered by an elegant gold on blue print. It’s backed in Quilters Blenders Gold backing from our shop. I quilted it in “Fancy 3” for her and made the binding from the same material it’s backed with. It’s beautiful Patti! 🙂
Susan Wilson made this striking equine themed quilt! She pieced pinwheel blocks of a horse print with a complimenting solid. For the alternating blocks she embroidered horseshoes on squares of fabric featuring a horseshoe print. She framed these with a rich dark brown solid for complimenting contrast then bordered it with a multicolored stripe print with the stripes running against the quilt for a similar effect to piano keys without actually having to sew piano keys together. Very nice! I filled it with our soft, stable Hobbs Heirloom batting and quilted it in a Wild Horses design using gold thread on top and light brown on the bottom. It’s backed with Tilt-A-Whirl Natural 108” quilt backing from our shop. A unique quilt!
Jean Ramos asked me to take her daughter Amanda’s T-Shirts from High School and make them into a quilt with the colors of the Marianna High School. We can do that! My son, Gerald got busy cutting the shirts out then I put them together with purple and gold, the colors of the Bulldogs. The quilt is bordered in the same colors. It is also backed & bound with the gold which is Quilters Blenders Yellow Gold from our shop. We naturally used our soft but stable Hobbs Heirloom batting inside and I stipple quilted it for her. With care these shirts and the memories they represent are now preserved for a lifetime!
Ruth Wade made this catchy looking throw from strips and squares of various prints, mostly cool and natural colors bordered with a colorful batik. It just catches your attention! Inside we used our soft, easy to work with Hobbs Heirloom batting . The throw is backed with our Harvest Gold Tonal Vineyard quilt backing and I quilted it for her in “Curly Swirly” using dark turquoise thread. I love the colors!
Beverly Cox brought me this to quilt… An amazing bigger than King Size T-shirt quilt that she and members of her family made for someone they love very much! The quilt top is made from lots of Briana’s T-shirts she’s collected over her time in school. The quilt is framed with an FSU patch print and bordered in black for contrast. The back is a red garnet blenders print and I did the binding in gold for FSU! Inside we used our soft Hobbs Heirloom batting and I quilted it in arrows. Brianna there is no doubt, you have a family that loves you bunches! 🙂
I finally got a chance to finish something I started a couple years ago, a Santa and Mrs. Claus quilt (or large throw). They look real and fill the room with the spirit of Christmas! I quilted around them and added snowflakes of two different designs. Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas everyone! 🙂
