Ann Owens made this amazing Winter Holiday Village quilt with all the things you would expect to find in a picture-perfect little town at Christmas including Santa’s Workshop, a train and of course the Olde Quilt Shop! The buildings are sewn together with special details added by appliqué. There’s snow on the ground and a chill in the air but it’s nice & warm inside each shop! The red border nicely ties it all together. Warm, soft Hobbs Heirloom batting was used inside, and the quilt is backed with Blended Hunter Green quilt backing, both from our shop. I quilted it in a loose stipple for her using light blue thread. It’s a Very Merry Christmas in this quilted village Ann! 🎄
Marie Alday pieced this pretty (& funky!) Pink & Blue Quilt! She used a variety of prints anchored by the overall pink and blue theme to create the fun, whimsical effect. The marbled blue squares set on point are appliquéd, as are the matching triangles. Soft Hobbs Heirloom batting from our shop was used on the inside. I quilted it in “Glorious Crosses” for her and did the binding. This quilt just makes you smile! 🙂
I made this queen size Whimsical Bicycle Art quilt from a pattern by Sally Manke. This one is for my own bed! The wheels are each made from 72 Dresden wedges cut with a 10-degree wedge ruler. The bicycle, flowers and butterflies are all appliqué. I made it in the colors I wanted and added the floral corner blacks and yellow field to frame it and create the true queen size I need for my bed. The concentric blue and black borders contrast nicely with the lighter colors focusing attention toward the center. A couple of the pictures show the top as I was adding the border prior to quilting. I backed it Light Blue Floral quilt backing from our shop. Since I had butterflies on the quilt it just seemed perfect add dragonflies by quilting them with lime green thread! I made the binding from different prints used in the quilt. I finally made one just for me! 🙂
Ann Owens made this spectacular Christmas Throw featuring appliqué Christmas Trees, Reindeer, Little Red Truck, Stars, Snowflakes, Holly and more! Our soft Hobbs Heirloom batting is inside the quilt sandwich and it’s backed with Tea Dye Quilters Blenders backing from our shop. I quilted it in a loose stipple for her. You do some amazing appliqué, Ann! 🙂
Sue’s Fall Dresden Plate & Appliqué Quilt!
Sue Coe made this Fabulous Fall Dresden Plate Quilt featuring appliqué harvest accents. The colors of autumn abound in this variation of the classic Dresden plate pattern. Double borders of a leaf print set in squares of complimenting colors and a marbled green showcase the design. I quilted it for her in Acorns & Leaves. It is a beautiful quilt, Sue! 🙂
Freida Ritter made this adorable Chicken quilt! It features cute chickens made from a variety of colorful prints appliquéd on a black and white chicken wire print that looks just like poultry mesh. It’s even sashed with strips of a print featuring chicken tracks! A band of white polka dots and red in the border completes the look. Naturally, I quilted it for her in a chicken wire design. The perfect chicken quilt, Freida! 🙂
Sue Coe made this wonderful quilt featuring beautiful butterflies made from handkerchiefs which she folded and pressed in the shape of a butterfly then appliquéd on the squares. The blocks are sashed with a petite lavender floral material which she bordered with concentric strips of a green butterfly print surrounded by a purple tonal floral print. Of course, I quilted it for her in butterflies with purple thread! You created a very pretty quilt Sue! 🙂
