Debbie’s Florida Gators Strip Quilt is a Blue & Orange Showstopper! 🐊🏈

Football season is in full swing, and this Gators quilt by Debbie Shephard is sure to turn heads on game day!

Debbie pieced this bold strip quilt from a fun mix of Florida Gators licensed prints — gators, helmets, “F” logos, and “Florida Pride” lettering — along with orange and blue buffalo plaid and solid royal blue and orange strips. The staggered strips of different lengths give it real energy, like a team running out of the tunnel. It finished at about 57″ x 70″, a perfect lap-sized throw for cheering from the couch.

I quilted it edge-to-edge in a Footballs design using orange thread, so the stitching shows up as a bit of fun texture across the royal blue strips while letting all those team prints take center stage.

Lady Bird Quilts supplied our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting, plus the backing and binding, for this one, so this quilt is completely finished and ready to use, no extra steps needed on her end!
