Kristi Noland asked me to make a big quilt for her dad, a retired Arkansas Highway Police Officer from his uniform shirts, pants, t-shirts, jackets and cap. So, I did! It is just a bit longer than a California King. The colors reflect the colors of the Arkansas Highway Police and I incorporated patches and shirts from many years of his career into his quilt. It has our Hobbs Heirloom batting inside and Quilters Blenders Dark Gray on Black from our shop for backing. I quilted it in “Twine” for her using light gray thread, then did the binding. A wonderful gift and way to remember your dad’s law enforcement career, Kristi! 🙂
Jill Rigdon made this great T-Shirt Quilt from shirts that she has been saving from endurance rides she did over the years. The Lost Posse Run, she and her friend Susan organized and held for three years. She held onto the shirts and now she has preserved them in this wonderful quilt where she can continue to enjoy them for years to come! She sashed them with black to make the colors stand out and it’s backed with Hunter Green Marblecious quilt backing from our shop. I quilted it in “Diamonds” using gold thread for her and made the binding from the same material used to back it. This quilt is full of great memories, Jill! 🙂
Gwen Edwards made this awesome T-Shirt Quilt for her son who recently graduated from Sneads High School! It’s made from his high school shirts. He was very active in the Future Farmers of America and a proud member of the Sneads chapter, so the quilt features a great collection of FFA shirts, and she even sashed them with FFA fabric! She also added black on the bottom and right of each t-shirt block to make it stand out with a drop shadow effect. I quilted it in waves for her and since the FFA colors are blue and gold I bound it in gold. Gwen, you made a magnificent keepsake for your son! 🙂

Patsy Willis made this T-Shirt quilt with 15 tees from the annual Greensboro Kiwanis July 4th Celebration and 5,000 Meter Run! This annual celebration has been put on by the Greensboro, Fl Kiwanis for many years and has become a community tradition. She sashed the shirts together with a White Stars on Blue print and bordered it with Red Stars on White. We stock many patriotic prints in our shop including stars, we also carry the Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting used inside. I meander quilted it for her using red, white and blue variegated thread. A wonderful quilt commemorating a great celebration! 🙂
Mr. Alton Snellgrove asked me to make a quilt for his granddaughter out of her softball T-shirts and jerseys and I was happy to be able to. Amberlea has had quite a distinguished softball career already as her T-shirts attest! I bordered the shirts with red and blue, sashed the blocks with our white tone on tone stars print, framed it in concentric strips of red and blue then made the binding from the same white stars print. The batting inside is premium Hobbs Heirloom and the quilt is backed with Quilters Blenders Poinsettia Red 108” quilt backing from our shop. I quilted it in Bats, Balls, Gloves & Helmets using lime green thread.
Congratulations, Amberlea on your athletic achievements, I hope this quilt preserves and showcases your softball career to date throughout the years to come. 🙂
