Connie Betterley brought me this matching pair of small chevron quilts, and I just love how these turned out! She pieced both tops in the same gorgeous batik collection — warm golds and browns with dark dragonfly prints peeking through the chevron points — so the two make a beautiful set.

I quilted both edge-to-edge with a Dragonfly Dance design, using brown thread to blend right into that warm palette. The swirling dragonfly motif plays so nicely off the diagonal piecing and adds movement without competing with Connie’s pattern.

Connie supplied her own batting and backing, and she’ll be adding her own binding once these come home to her. Two lap-size quilts, one gorgeous fabric line — this was a fun set to have on my longarm!
