Horses and Horseshoes!
Susan Wilson made this striking equine themed quilt! She pieced pinwheel blocks of a horse print with a complimenting solid. For the alternating blocks she embroidered horseshoes on squares of fabric featuring a horseshoe print. She framed these with a rich dark brown solid for complimenting contrast then bordered it with a multicolored stripe print with the stripes running against the quilt for a similar effect to piano keys without actually having to sew piano keys together. Very nice! I filled it with our soft, stable Hobbs Heirloom batting and quilted it in a Wild Horses design using gold thread on top and light brown on the bottom. It’s backed with Tilt-A-Whirl Natural 108” quilt backing from our shop. A unique quilt!
