Ruth’s Auburn Tigers Quilt Scores a Touchdown for Her Grandson! 🏈🐯

There’s nothing quite like a quilt made with love for someone you cherish, and this one from Ruth Garrison is a perfect example. Ruth pieced together a bold patchwork of Auburn University Tigers fabrics in the school’s classic orange and navy, mixing in checkerboard AU prints, a football-print accent square, and a vintage Aubie the Tiger mascot block right in the center — a true showpiece for any Auburn fan’s home.

I quilted it edge-to-edge in a Football Helmet design, stitched in matching orange thread so the quilting echoes the football theme throughout without competing with all that great fabric. The back carries the theme right along with a second Auburn Tigers logo block, framed in navy and orange.

Ruth pieced the top and supplied the batting, and I finished it off with a premium 108″ backing and a cotton binding in Auburn orange, so it’s completely finished and ready to snuggle under — no extra steps needed on her end!

The sweetest part, though, is tucked into the back corner: a handmade label reading “For Bin Garrison, From Ruth Garrison GG, October 2023.” This quilt is a gift, stitched with love from a grandmother to her grandson — the kind of keepsake he’ll be wrapping up in for years to come.
