Patti’s Octagons & Stars Quilt!

Patti Spooner pieced this beautiful quilt featuring stars made from concave octagons! An inspiring design featuring stars of blue and gold prints set in a white field framed by a border of blue. The dark blue print used in the stars and border looks is reminiscent of the night sky! The quilt is backed with marbled gold backing and filled with Hobbs Heirloom batting from our shop. I quilted it in “Fancy 3” for her in navy blue thread and made the binding from the same material used for the back. A wonderful quilt, Patti! 🙂

Debbie’s Scrappy Star Quilt!

Debbie Shepard pieced this beautiful quilt mostly from fabric my sister, Iris “donated to the cause” and dropped off at the shop. She made this for her own bed, and I think she did an incredible job with it! This is a very pretty quilt block and the colors just make it come alive! We used Hobbs’ wonderful Heirloom batting and backed it with Quilters Blenders Majestic Purple 108” quilt backing from our shop. I used the same material to make the binding. I quilted it in “Flights of Fancy” with lime green thread for her. Debbie, I’m proud of you and the gorgeous quilts you’ve made! 🙂

Antionette’s Pinwheels on The Green Quilt!

This pretty quilt top was handmade by Antionette Matthews’ mom. She asked me to quilt and bind it for her and I was glad to help her turn this beautiful hand sewn quilt top into a finished quilt to be treasured. Soft Hobbs Heirloom batting was used inside and it’s backed it with Amazon Green marbled quilt backing, both are from our shop. I quilted it in Hearts and bound it with the same material that it is backed with. This pinwheel variation is a special quilt! 🙂

Bright & Cheery Sampler Quilt!

Joy Lister pieced this dazzling sampler! She made it with a variety of quilt blocks sashed with yellow and green prints. It is bordered in a light blue print that compliments the other colors nicely! The quilt is filled with Hobbs 80/20 Heirloom batting and backed with 108” Tilt_A_Whirl Purple quilt backing from Lady Bird Quilts. I quilted it for her in the “Fancy 3” design. She did a sensational job on it!

Quilt Sewing Class – Disappearing Nine Patch

Instructor: Lynda Britt
Beginning Sewing & Quilt Piecing Class on Tuesday April 18th from 2 to 4.  In this class we will learn how to make the Disappearing Nine Patch quilt block.  The class fee is $25 (payable at the class) which covers all materials for the class.  Bring your sewing machine and let’s have some fun!  You do need to register in advance which you can do in person at Lady Bird Quilts & Fabric on Saturday, by giving us a call at 850-329-8276 or sending us a message.  Fabric will be for sale after the class.

I put this sampler quilt together for Pat Hammitt from a collection of beautiful quilt blocks made by her mother-in-law.  The back is sewn together from material Pat provided and it has our Hobbs Heirlooom 80/20 batting inside.  I quilted it in the pipeline design and then bound it with some of the same material used for the back. There are quite a few different quilt blocks in this one!  🙂
