State Birds & Flowers Quilt
Carla Nix asked me if I could make quilt for her father, St. Elmo Harrison from a set of squares beautifully hand embroidered with all 50 states, the year of statehood, the state bird and the state flower. Mr. Harrison had purchased the set of squares previously with the intention of having a quilt made from them. I was glad to make it for them! I sashed it with red and blue Quilters Blenders fabric from our shop, bordered with one of our patriotic flag prints then bound it with red after quilting. The quilt is filled with Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting for a soft comfortable feel and ideal weight. I stipple quilted it with Ecru thread. This quilt is a queen size tribute to America! 🙂
