Lynda’s Whimsical Bicycle Art Quilt!

I made this queen size Whimsical Bicycle Art quilt from a pattern by Sally Manke. This one is for my own bed! The wheels are each made from 72 Dresden wedges cut with a 10-degree wedge ruler. The bicycle, flowers and butterflies are all appliqué. I made it in the colors I wanted and added the floral corner blacks and yellow field to frame it and create the true queen size I need for my bed. The concentric blue and black borders contrast nicely with the lighter colors focusing attention toward the center. A couple of the pictures show the top as I was adding the border prior to quilting. I backed it Light Blue Floral quilt backing from our shop. Since I had butterflies on the quilt it just seemed perfect add dragonflies by quilting them with lime green thread! I made the binding from different prints used in the quilt. I finally made one just for me! 🙂
