Sandra East brought me this fascinating Carpenter’s Star quilt top to quilt! It is made up twenty quilt blocks, each a small carpenter’s star with lots of different colors and prints. The quilt is backed in our 108” Purple Grunge Paint backing with soft Hobbs Heirloom batting inside. I quilted it in “Flights of Fancy” for her using gold thread and made the binding from the same material used for the back. There’s a lot going on in this quilt, Sandra! 🙂
Beverly Pritchard asked me to make this quilt for her from her mother’s clothes. She knew the exact pattern she wanted, so that’s just how I made it! The diamonds cut from her clothes were put together with a subdued white Tonal Vineyard print that lets the colors shine. Her mom’s name and the dates marking the beginning and end of her time on earth were embroidered in lavender on a central purple panel by Pam Miller. The quilt is backed with our Quilters Blenders Blue Atoll quilt backing, while Hobbs Heirloom batting completes the quilt sandwich on the inside. I quilted it in “Curly Swirly” with purple thread and made the binding from the same purple material used for the name & dates panel. I hope this quilt brings Beverly years of happiness remembering and feeling her mom’s love.
Laura Sowell made this neat Purple Strip Quilt! The strips are all prints with some shade of purple or violet in them. Cut and sewn in in this zigzag pattern they make for a catchy and clever quilt! Our Quilters Blenders Majestic Purple make the perfect backing for it. I quilted in “Curly Swirly” for her in what else? Purple thread! 🙂
Sandy Roberts made this wondrous Purple Panel Quilt with a panel featuring a field of lavender that she bought from our shop. With the black window frame and concentric strips of pink and purple prints it makes for a stunning scene. It’s backed with our Smoothie Purple quilt backing and filled with premium Hobbs Heirloom batting inside. I quilted it in Seashells for her and did the binding. This is a beautiful quilt to look at, Sandy! 🙂
Dianne Powell asked me to make a quilt for her granddaughter, Sydney from her high school athletic T-shirts and jerseys. With shirts from softball, volleyball, and wrestling there was plenty to work with! We also added a picture of her with her glove, ball, bat, and helmet. After cutting and stabilizing the shirts, I pieced the quilt top together with a gold floral print (for the school colors of purple & gold). Our soft, stable Hobbs Heirloom batting was used inside, and the quilt is backed with Purple Tonal Vineyard quilt backing from our shop. I used gold thread to quilt it in “Twine” for her and made the binding from the same material used for the back. This is wonderful way to keep precious high school memories alive! 🙂
Patti Spooner pieced this lovely Southwest Cross quilt! The colorful blocks are bordered with a gorgeous multihued purple print which beautifully frames it. Our soft Hobbs Heirloom batting is inside, and it is backed with Quilter’s Blenders Light Pink quilt backing from our shop. I quilted it for her in “Fancy 3” with neon green thread and did the binding with the same material used for the back. It’s a pretty quilt, Patti! 🙂
