A Tie-riffic Creation for Aletha!

Aletha Medina asked me to make several special necktie memory quilts for her; this is the first one! Each tie contributes its own pattern, color, and texture to the overall design. The design itself is a pinwheel or starburst motif, repeated across the quilt. Each block features triangular tie sections radiating from a central point, set against a backdrop of richly colored and textured fabrics from our shop. This combination highlights the unique patterns of the ties while adding depth with coordinating solids and blenders. The quilt is backed and bound with our Purple Smoothie quilt backing with soft Hobbs Heirloom batting inside. I quilted it in “Stars & Loops” using lime green thread. This is a wonderful way to “tie” precious memories into a special quilt! 😊
