Lady Bird Quilts and Fabric

X’s and O’s Heirloom Quilt

Share

This quilt was pieced by Carolyn Johnson’s grandmother.  The top is handsewn and is between 75 and 100 years old.  It is a delightful variation  of the X’s and O’s pattern.  Carolyn brought it to us to finish so she could display and enjoy it.  I quilted it in the Flights of Fancy design and the binding is made of material with a teacup print. It is backed with our White on Natural Antique Rose 108″ quilt backing and the batting is our Hobbs Heirloom batting which gives it the perfect weight and feel.  A beautiful quilt to be enjoyed for generations!

The Beach Quilt

This quilt was designed by Jeffery Tye.  His grandmother (my sister) Iris Tye Melvin and I pieced it together.  It features appliqué seagulls and anchor which was monogrammed with his initials by Tonya Pilcher Banks of SweeT T’s Embroidery & Boutique.  You’ve got the sun, sky, sand and water all right here!  Jeffery and I quilted it together with waves, seashells and clouds.  It makes you want to go to the beach! 🙂

Throw for Aunt Ruth

Share

My sister, Iris and I made this throw for our aunt, Ruth Barber.  She has made so many wonderful quilts for other people so we decided to make one just for her!  It’s made in the 3 Dudes Jelly Roll pattern with fabrics from our shop.  I quilted it with the Birds In a Bath pattern with lots of spacing to make it soft just like she likes!  🙂
