Sissy’s Log Cabin Quilt!

Share

Sissy Worrell had us do this Log Cabin quilt for her. It is a timeless quilt block and the iconic, retro prints used in it lend a warm touch and remind us of the beautiful quilts our mothers, grandmothers and aunts made in years gone by. It’s backed with our Gray Branches 108” quilt backing with Hobbs Heirloom batting inside, also from our shop. I quilted it in “Curly Swirly” for her and made the binding from the same material used for the back. I like the shadow effect created while keeping the basic pink, black and white theme! 🙂

Jennifer Darnell made this marvelous quilt with a variation on the Log Cabin quilt block! The attractive blocks are sashes with a catchy black print which highlights the colors and adds contrast. The small green vine squares make perfect accents! I quilted it in “Curly Swirly” with turquoise thread for her. This is a spectacular quilt, Jennifer! 🙂

This kaleidoscope of color in an Uneven Log Cabin quilt pieced by Patti Spooner! She used many different batiks in this quilt, artfully arranging the colors to maximum effect. It’s backed with our Red Flower tone on tone quilt backing. I quilted it for her in “Fancy 3” with lime green thread and made the binding from the same material used for the back. It is a very colorful quilt, Patti! 🙂

Patti’s Colorful Log Cabin Quilt!

Patti Spooner pieced this dramatic Log Cabin quilt that just pops with color and contrast! Blue is the primary accent color anchoring the center of each block as well framing all the blocks. A border of gray blenders coordinates nicely with blue binding providing the final accent touch. Soft Hobbs Heirloom batting fills the inside of the quilt sandwich while it is backed with Blended Royal Blue quilt backing from our shop. I quilted it in “Pipeline” for her using black thread and did the binding. This is a beautiful quilt Patti! 🙂

Log Cabin on Point by Patti!

The bold three-dimensional effect of this quilt is striking! Patti Spooner pieced this Log Cabin on Point Quilt. The 3D effect is achieved with only 4 different colors, white, light gray, a dark gray print and black. It’s filled with soft Hobbs Heirloom batting and backed with our 108” Tilt-A-Whirl Black quilt backing which was also used to bind it. I quilted it for her in “Pipeline” with dark gray thread. Very nice Patti! 🙂

Log Cabin In The Round Quilt!

Carolyn Finlayson made this extraordinary quilt! It’s a paper pieced pattern with lots of pieces. Her work is meticulous. I think part of what makes this quilt so interesting to look at is the block variations. I quilted it for her in “Curly Swirly” with royal blue thread. She did the binding herself after these pictures were taken. I think she’s a natural, with lots of patience. Beautiful work, Carolyn! 🙂
