Tyler Sadler asked us to make this Cross Quilt as a gift for his wife on their 2nd Anniversary, which we were happy to do! Their names are embroidered below the cross and we incorporated the colors he asked for into the quilt. It’s backed and bound with our Quilters Blenders Yellow Gold quilt backing. The batting used is our soft Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 for a nice weigh and feel. I quilted it in sunbeams emanating from the cross in gold thread. We make these to order, a throw in this design is $300.
I made this Bargello Throw featuring a gradient of Cool Sea Green and Pink to Red colors bordered by Black. It’s backed and bound with in Aqua Turquoise Blenders with our comfortable and stable Hobbs Heirloom batting inside. I quilted it in a diamond design with Variegated Turquoise thread. This 49” x 63” throw is for sale in our shop for $300.00. It makes me think of spring and summer at the beach!
James Fisher asked us to make a quilt and a couple of throws from the t-shirts he has collected from running marathons in all 50 states. My son Gerald Danford pieced the top for this twin size quilt. The t-shirts are stabilized and sewn together in a field of Wisconsin Badgers Red which is also used for the back. Our soft not too hot, not too cool Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting is inside and I quilted it in “Curly Arcs” with black thread. I also made the binding in black. A perfect quilt to commemorate an amazing achievement!
This is a large Log Cabin Cross Throw (it measures 60” x 82”) that my sister Iris and I made. It features a floral print in the center of the cross echoed with complimenting colors of coral, light sage green, purple and the same floral print repeated. It is bordered with the same solid colors. The back and binding is made from our Petal Flow Purple quilt backing. I quilted it in Sunrays with gold thread and it has our soft Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting inside. This one is for sale in our shop for $400 if you are interested in it. We accept credit cards and will gladly ship via USPS Priority Mail.
My sister, Iris Tye Melvin made this spectacular Coca-Cola throw for her daughter-in-law, Beth Tye who loves Coca-Cola collectibles! The center of the throw is a gorgeous Coca-Cola panel she found surrounded gray blenders sashed with black to capture the look of the weathered siding on the old general store, then red (for Coke!) and finally piano keys made of different fabrics including two Coca-Cola prints. I quilted it in “Soda-n-Caps” for her. The perfect gift for a Coca-Cola girl!
Betty George pieced this charming outdoorsy quilt featuring a print with canoes, bears, squirrels, fish and much more… Just the thing to snuggle up under on these cold winter nights! The traditional pattern is perfect for this quilt. Inside it is filled with our soft, not too light, not too heavy Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting. I quilted it in the “Autumn Leaves” design with gold thread and made the binding from the same material used for the back. Great job Betty!
