I made this quilt for my oldest daughter, Lisa in 2014. It is a quilt of love with squares made by her great-grandmother, Audrey Maphis, her grandmother Fannie Maphis, her great-aunt, Ruth Barber, her Aunt, Iris Tye Melvin, her daughter, Alisa Humphrey and me. Their names are embroidered on their squares. The quilt is stripped and backed with fabric from our shop. I quilted it in the Hearts & Hands design with a mother’s love! 🙂

I made this one for myself! The throw features dolphins, whales, salt water fish and a sea turtle with cool ocean colors created with Marblecious and Quilters Blenders prints from our shop. There is also a bit of the beach! It’s backed with our Sapphire Blue Quilters Blenders quilt backing. I quilted it in Seashells & Sand Dollars. Sometimes you just need to think about the beach… 🙂
Patty Ray asked me to make a quilt from these “Parasol Lady” blocks which she and her mother-in-law embroidered by hand. I stripped it together with Quilter’s Blenders Purple from our shop and quilted it tracing around the dolls and filling in with a twine design. It’s quilted in ecru thread on top and purple on the bottom. The quilt is filled with our Hobbs Heirloom batting for a soft and natural feel. I also embroidered the label and did the binding. The beautiful handwork by Patty and her mother-in-law certainly makes for a beautiful gift for a lucky granddaughter!
This magnificent patriotic quit was made by Othelia Clark! It features Red, White and Blue prints pieced in a twister pattern. She backed it with a captivating interlocking print and it uses our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting. I quilted it for her in Stars & Loops. An inspiring quilt for this Memorial Day and every day!
This spectacular quilt was made by my aunt, Ruth Barber and sister, Iris Tye Melvin as a gift for me! The design is mine and Iris’s. The gold in the center triangles and the variegated blue fabric in the big blue diamond is accented by touches of metallic gold in the blue swirls. The diamonds are sashed in white and black. A black border frames and sets off the design. The quilt is backed with our 108” Tonal Vineyard Bright Blue quilt backing and I quilted it in an Asian Fan design. It is on our bed now, thank you Aunt Ruth & Iris! 🙂
