I made this quilt for my son, Gerald Danford who asked me to make him a quilt like his “Big Granny” (great grandmother), Audrey Maphis made. It’s simply all squares from a little of everything with one special block made by my granddaughter (his niece), Alisa Humphrey when she was 8 or 9 years old. It is backed with our Tonal Vineyard Emerald Green quilt backing and filled with Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting. I quilted it with the Stars & Wavy Banner design. It does look a lot like one of Granny’s quilts! 🙂
My aunt, Ruth Barber made this fantastic Florida State Seminole table runner for her niece, Phyllis Pearce and her husband John. It’s got it all to set the perfect table on game day! FSU licensed fabric (available in our shop), football themed prints and the Garnet & Gold. I quilted it for her with Footballs & Loops. Show that team spirit! 🙂
Patti Spooner covered the field with this winning crib quilt for a little one whose parents pull for different teams! The pattern has a neat gradient effect that ties the Seminole garnet to the Gator blue. The black sashing really frames the colors and just makes them pop! The quilt is backed with our Tilt-A-Whirl Natural quilt backing and filled with Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting (not too heavy but still nice & warm). I quilted it in Swirls and Stars then did the binding in black to match. This quilt is a winner wither way! 🙂
James Mills brought me this quilt that his Grandmother made many years ago and asked me to restore it. I was able to save 10 complete blocks, which was as much of the original quilt as possible and made new ones from fabric I was able to recover from damaged squares and complimentary prints. The new back that James chose is made from our Black Overtone Willowy Flowers 108” quilt backing. The quilt is filled with soft Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting. I quilted it in an Aztec design. James was giving the quilt to his brother as a birthday present so he would have something special their Grandma made! 🙂
Gennell Neel made this T-Shirt Quilt for her granddaughter, Jordan from her high school shirts. She did a great job with it! Jordan graduated from Marianna High School in 2010. The quilt is backed with our Quilters Blenders Yellow Gold 108” wide quilt backing and is filled with Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting also from our shop. I stipple quilted it and did the binding for her. Thanks to her grandmother, Jordan can keep her t-shirts and high school memories close!
