Lady Bird Quilts made this King size quilt for Janet Dudley from Little Bo Peep squares. They were hand embroidered and hand appliquéd by the aunt of her husband, Bob Dudley about 75 years ago when she was a teenager. Bob’s sister, Melodye Jones had saved and kept them over the years. Janet and Melodye picked out the colors and designed the entire quilt. All of the fabric (except the squares) came from our shop. It is backed in our White on Natural Antique Rose quilt backing with Hobbs Heirloom batting inside. I quilted it in the Ribbon Hearts design. It is wonderful to be able to help preserve the handwork of Bob and Melodye’s aunt and it stay in their family to be enjoyed for many years to come!
This Amazing quilt was made by Charlotte Worrell of Bristol, FL. It features hand embroidered flowers with incredible detail on muslin squares. The squares are stripped together with tonal vineyard green fabric surrounded by a contrasting paisley and floral print. I quilted it with butterflies, flowers and grass.
Incredible job, Charlotte!
Denise Williams asked me to quilt this delightful quilt top that came into her shop. I don’t know who made it originally but it is a work of art! It’s all hand stitched appliqué and hand embroidery. Beautiful work with a fun design. I quilted it with various patterns including butterflies, flowers and acorns & leaves. The backing is our 108” Quilters Blenders Blue Atoll material. Thanks for letting me quilt this, Denise!
Michelle Martin brought me this beautiful quilt top which was hand embroidered and pieced by her grandmother, Sue Conwill. The intricate work in the embroidery is amazing! Michelle told me that it took her grandmother about 3 months to do. It is beautiful and I enjoyed quilting it for her, her dad and her grandmother. Michelle picked our Curls Swirls Sky quilt backing for it and I quilted it with the “Ribbon Heart” design. Thanks Michelle for bringing it to me!
This beautiful Black and White Chicken Scratch Embroidery on gingham quilt was pieced and embroidered by Catherine Olivent for her grandson, Bradley Norris as a graduation present. Lucky young man! The detail of the embroidered flowers is incredible. I am honored that she chose me to quilt it for her.
