Stacey Strickland and his wife asked me to make a T-Shirt Quilt for their son, Conner as a Christmas gift at the same time they ordered one for their daughter, Lauren. It’s made of his baseball jerseys and t-shirts plus to make it extra special it also includes some from his dad and sister. This queen size quilt is put together with purple and gold cotton fabric from our shop and backed with our 108” Quilters Blenders Yellow Gold quilt backing. It’s filled with our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting which is warm without being too heavy. My sister, Iris Tye Melvin did the machine embroidery of Conner’s name and date of birth. I quilted it in an Aztec design. A great way to preserve wonderful family memories!
Poca Mae and Dan Hatcher asked us to make a quilt as a Christmas gift for their son who is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the medical themed ties he wore to medical school. So, we did! My sister, Iris Tye Melvin helped me piece the quilt and Georgiana Hand did the embroidery. We used garnet & gold for the base colors and appliquéd the ties on the gold blocks. It is sashed in black for contrast and backed with our 108” wide Marblecious Brown quilt backing. I quilted it in in a medical design and put a black binding on it. The perfect way to preserve Doctor Hatcher’s tie collection!
Stacey Strickland and his wife asked me to make a T-Shirt Quilt for their daughter, Lauren as a Christmas present. It includes her T-shirts along with some of her dad’s plus a handkerchief and doilies of her grandmother. I put it together with lime green fabric in solid and chevrons. Georgiana Hand did the machine embroidery. It is filled with our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Batting for just the right weight and feel. I backed it with our 108” Softie Lime Green Quilt Backing and quilted it in Square Spirals. A great tribute to Lauren’s many interests and her family!
Carla Nix asked me if I could make quilt for her father, St. Elmo Harrison from a set of squares beautifully hand embroidered with all 50 states, the year of statehood, the state bird and the state flower. Mr. Harrison had purchased the set of squares previously with the intention of having a quilt made from them. I was glad to make it for them! I sashed it with red and blue Quilters Blenders fabric from our shop, bordered with one of our patriotic flag prints then bound it with red after quilting. The quilt is filled with Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting for a soft comfortable feel and ideal weight. I stipple quilted it with Ecru thread. This quilt is a queen size tribute to America! 🙂
My sister, Iris Tye Melvin made this quilt as a gift for for her grandson, Jeffery Tye and embroidered it with his name and the year. I quilted it in the “Curl Arc” design. It is made entirely from colorful prints and batiks that we carry in our shop. The backing is our 108” Tilt-A-Whirl Turquoise and the quilt is filled with soft Hobbs 80/20 Heirloom batting. Love the colors, great job sister! 🙂
My sister, Iris Tye Melvin made this beach themed quilt for my son and daughter-in-law, Randy and DeeDee Danford. Embroidery is by both Iris and Tonya Pilcher Banks of Sweet T’s. I quilted it in “Curl Circle”. It’s filled with our soft Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting and backed with our 108” Softie Lime Green quilt backing. It certainly puts you in a salty state of mind, perfect for the beach! 🙂
These beautiful squares were hand embroidered by Pat Hammitt’s mother-in-law. We put them together for her in this quilt. I quilted around each circle of linked hearts, then quilted the borders in a complimentary design. The quilt is backed with our Tonal Medallion Bright Green 108” quilt backing. I love the embroidery and cross stitch!
