My sister, Iris Tye Melvin made this motorcycle quilt in Harley-Davidson colors for our nephew, Jamie Maphis from T-shirts he has collected from motorcycle rallies and Harley dealers around the country. It also includes some traditional quilt blocks and squares by women who have quilted in our family. It’s filled with our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting and backed with Quilters Blenders Blue Atoll 108” quilt backing from our shop. I quilted it in Flames and Motorcycles with lime green thread. Gorgeous job sister!
Melissa Gilley pieced this Irish Chain quilt in warm, sunny colors. She did a very nice job with this quilt and hopefully she’ll keep this one to enjoy for herself! The quilt is filled with our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting for just the right weight and feel. I quilted it in a diamond design with wine color thread and then made the binding from the same material as the backing. We are proud that Melissa has made Lady Bird Quilts her second home where quilting is concerned!
This light and cheery quilt was pieced by Betty George. It is a five strip block with a beautiful turquoise theme. I bordered it in gray and turquoise prints provided by Betty to make it queen size. The quilt is filled with our “just the right weight” Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting and backed with our Flowy Gray 108” quilt backing. I quilted it in the Flights of Fancy design. This quilt fills your mind with thoughts of spring & summer. It is a beautiful quilt, Betty!
