Lady Bird Quilts made this T-shirt throw for Stacy Strickland and his wife from his and their kids’ T-shirts. Georgiana Hand made the top for us and embroidered Lauren and Conner (their children) in a square. I quilted it in an Aztec design with red thread. The quilt is backed and bound with our Poinsettia Red Quilters Blenders quilt backing. A wonderful way to preserve treasured shirts and memories! 🙂
Elizabeth Murphy made this cute baby quilt to see if she liked quilt piecing. It features lion faces in different colors and is perfectly precious. She did a really good job with it! I just “stitched in ditch” and quilted intersecting straight lines in the border for her. We’re happy that she decided to give quilt piecing a try! 🙂
My sister, Iris Tye Melvin made this patriotic throw from a Jelly Roll of patriotic prints from our shop. The squares connecting the strips and the border are our White Circles tone on tone print by Santee. The back and binding are Poinsettia Red Quilters Blenders which we carry in 45″ & 108” widths. Inside the quilt sandwich we used Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting for a nice feel. I quilted it in “Stars & Loops.” If you like this throw and don’t want to make one like it, this one is for sale in our shop for $300. 🙂
Zelma Smith made this quilt for the family of Manny Egusquiza. It’s made of denim from his blue jeans. Manny competed for years in team roping and calf roping and passed the skills on to his sons Manny Jr. and Dustin who are well known in team roping circles on the rodeo circuit. I quilted it in Horses and Hats. A fitting tribute to a rodeo man and father.
Lynn Henderson asked me to make a T-shirt quilt out of the shirts her husband has collected in their travels over the years. He has some great Tees Tees including some special ones from the grandkids and I was happy to help her with this project! It’s sashed with a green and black print that works with the colors and themes of these shirts. The backing is our Quilters Blenders Gold quilt backing and the quilt is filled with soft Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting from our shop. I quilted it in a “Diamonds” design with tan thread and made the binding from the same material it’s sashed with. A great way to preserve your T-shirts and memories! 🙂
Angie Pitts made this magical Harry Potter Quilt for her son. It features Harry with his magic wand along with the emblems and colors of the four houses of Hogwarts. The quilt is backed with our Quilters Blenders Navy Blue quilt backing and I quilted it in the Harry Potter Lightning Strikes design. This quilt might just cast a good spell on you! 🙂
Sharon Neel Hauke made this beautiful Red, White and Blue patriotic throw for her uncle who is a veteran. She surrounded the American Eagle panel with squares and blocks of patriotic prints sashed with white then bordered with red and blue. The batting inside is our soft, natural feeling Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 and the back is made from a blue Quilters Blenders print from our shop. I quilted it in a Quilt of Valor design. Sharon, this is a wonderful and enduring tribute to his service!
