Betty’s Tumbler Quilt

Share

Betty George made this exquisite twin size Tumbler Quilt. The pleasing geometric design features a variety of prints in warm tones surrounded by a vintage floral print. The quilt is filled with our 80/20 Hobbs Heirloom batting and backed with our Antique Rose quilt backing. I also made the binding from the same Antique Rose tone-on-tone fabric and quilted it in the Asian Fan design. A beautiful job Betty!

Conner’s T-Shirt Quilt!

Stacey Strickland and his wife asked me to make a T-Shirt Quilt for their son, Conner as a Christmas gift at the same time they ordered one for their daughter, Lauren. It’s made of his baseball jerseys and t-shirts plus to make it extra special it also includes some from his dad and sister. This queen size quilt is put together with purple and gold cotton fabric from our shop and backed with our 108” Quilters Blenders Yellow Gold quilt backing. It’s filled with our Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting which is warm without being too heavy. My sister, Iris Tye Melvin did the machine embroidery of Conner’s name and date of birth. I quilted it in an Aztec design. A great way to preserve wonderful family memories!

Medical Tie Quilt

Share

Poca Mae and Dan Hatcher asked us to make a quilt as a Christmas gift for their son who is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the medical themed ties he wore to medical school. So, we did! My sister, Iris Tye Melvin helped me piece the quilt and Georgiana Hand did the embroidery. We used garnet & gold for the base colors and appliquéd the ties on the gold blocks. It is sashed in black for contrast and backed with our 108” wide Marblecious Brown quilt backing. I quilted it in in a medical design and put a black binding on it. The perfect way to preserve Doctor Hatcher’s tie collection!
