Family Tree Quilt

Share

This unique family tree quilt was made by Sara Thompson as a gift for a family member.  She pieced both the top and the back using a combination of quilting and appliqué techniques.  The back features outlines of the children’ hands with their names.  I used our premium Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting and quilted it in the Pipeline design. A beautiful quit that is sure to be treasured for generations!

Cap Quilt

Share

Linda Neel asked my sister, Iris and I to make this cap quilt for her husband Bill as a Christmas present.  She brought us all of the old caps he had saved from his years of farming and the wonderful Coca Cola printed fabric (Bill loves Coca Cola!).  The remaining fabric including the corn and peanuts is from our shop.  We appliquéd the cap with the Coca Cola patch.  I quilted a tractor into four blocks and stipple quilted the balance.  Linda did surprise Bill with his Christmas present this year!  🙂

Sampler

I put this sampler quilt together for Pat Hammitt from a collection of beautiful quilt blocks made by her mother-in-law.  The back is sewn together from material Pat provided and it has our Hobbs Heirlooom 80/20 batting inside.  I quilted it in the pipeline design and then bound it with some of the same material used for the back. There are quite a few different quilt blocks in this one!  🙂

T-Shirt Quilt featuring Basketball

Share

I made this T-shirt quilt for Diane McCombs as a Christmas present for her son.  It showcases his sports shirts surrounded by his school colors.  The fabric is all from Lady Bird Quilts.  It’s backed with our Black Tilt-A-Whirl 108” quilt backing and filled with Hobbs 80/20 Heirloom Batting for a nice wight and feel.  Since he is mostly into basketball I quilted it in Basketballs & Loops then made the binding from a basketball print

Wolf Quilt

Share

Robin Ham contacted me and asked me make a quilt for him and told me that he wanted it to have wolves on it.  So I made him a quilt with wolves on it!  The blue triangle print reminds me of mountains with a pristine lake in front, the green fabric has the lightning of a summer storm and the tan reminds me of the open areas of the American West.  All of the colors together also remind me of the heritage of Native Americans.  The fabric all came from our shop, it’s backed with our 108” Tonal Vineyard Natural Khaki and is filled with Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting.  I stipple quilted it.  Hope you are enjoying it Robin! 🙂
